Exactly one year after The Beta Band’s Steve Mason said of their self-titled debut “It’s definitely the worst record we’ve ever made and it’s probably one of the worst records that’ll come out this year,” the Glasgow band’s front man says in an NME interview that their new LP “will be one of the greatest LPs of all time.”
Elsewhere in the interview Mason reveals that he nearly broke up the band after making the last album. He says “...the last one tore my soul out... Packing it all in felt tempting but it would have been an insult to the people who are into what we do.”
Mason says he’s already written 15 songs for the new set. Later this month his side project King Biscuit Time releases a second EP in the UK titled No Style, due 26 June on Regal records. | NME story | | The Beta Band | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
