Aphex Twin plays rare dates in Ireland, Northern Ireland
12 June 2000
Richard James, a.k.a. Aphex Twin—who last October announced his retirement from record making to focus on soundtrack composition (with rumors but no confirmation that he’ll do the soundtrack for a William Gibson/Chris Cunningham production of Neuromancer)—played a pair of shows over the weekend. On Saturday he played Belfast and on Sunday Dublin.
NME reports that the Dublin show earned the reclusive techno pioneer a ten minute standing ovation. No other shows are scheduled, according to James’ Rephlex Records site. | NME story | | Rephlex Records | | Chris Cunningham news | | discography | | sample from Windowlicker | | top of page |
