Freeheat play surprise gig in Hollywood
28 July 2000
image
Last night Jim Reid’s new band Freeheat played to a packed house at San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill, performing a very tight, high energy mix of new songs and Jesus And Mary Chain classics. On Saturday they play their last announced US gig at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, and on Sunday they play an unannounced (save for Rockbites!) gig at LA’s Spaceland advertised with the fictional name Silverlake Gun Club. Freeheat are closing out their brief debut US tour with hopes to return in October or November.
Freeheat comprise front man Jim Reid, guitarist Ben Lurie, and drummer Nick Sanderson, all from The Jesus And Mary Chain (Sanderson’s also in Earl Brutus and ex The Gun Club) along with Romi Mori (ex The Gun Club) on bass and occasional vocals.
You can download a free MP3 (MPEG I layer 3) file of their song Back On The Water from music distribution site Listen.com, and get three brief MP3 samples of their 3 July London performance direct from the band’s official Web site. | Freeheat | | Freeheat on Listen.com | | Spaceland | | bio | | top of page |
