Chumbawamba give away anti-fascist CD in Austria
26 July 2000

English anarchist band Chumbawamba, stirring the shit and earning police attention since 1984 when they assisted striking miners, have announced that they’re distributing free a new version of their 1993 song Enough Is Enough in fascist leaning Austria. While a minority party with only about 25% of the vote, the Freedom Party led by controversial demagogue Joerg Haider now sits in Parliament, inaugurated in February. Haider remains as governor in the southern province of Carinthia.
The new version of the song “is basically a record about the Nazi Party” according to guitarist Boff Whalley. | SonicNet story | | Chumbawamba | | Austrian Paliament | | discography | | sample from Tubthumper | | top of page |
