At The Drive In re-release early material

On 15 August El Paso, Texas post punkers At The Drive In re-release their 1996 album Acrobatic Tenement on US indie label Flipside. Never widely distributed, the now legendary set has been out of print for years. You can order it today directly from Midheaven using our link (but check back tomorrow—Midheaven has been having some connection problems).
    Back in ’96, languishing undiscovered, ATDI often played to nearly empty clubs. Blaze James of Flipside, now their manager, had the foresight to capture the band to tape in those early days. They’re breaking out internationally only this year, playing the Reading Festival and moving to The Beastie Boys’ Grand Royal label. James recorded Acrobatic Tenement in a couple of days in Los Angeles for well under US$1,000 right after the band finished a southwest US tour.
    As Rockbites reported last week, ATDI will release a new full length on 12 September on Grand Royal, produced by Ross Robinson (Korn, Sepultura, Limp Bizkit). The band start a US tour at the end of the month. Here are the dates
