Billed as “the world’s largest online music event,” starting today at 6:00 am EDT (2 pm BST) New York city based Digital Club Network presents Digital Club Festival 2000 with more than 150 bands performing in 32 clubs around the US over a four day stretch (22-25 July). This is the festival’s second year.
You can view and listen to the performances online—most live, some previously recorded—using free software from RealNetworks. Artists to be Webcast live include Calexico, Cat Power (Chan Marshall), Confrontation Camp, The Dandy Warhols, Einsturzende Neubauten, Macha, Medeski Martin & Wood, The Queers, Patti Smith, Sonic Youth, Richard Thompson, Throwing Muses, Wilco, Wu-Tang Clan, Yo La Tengo, and many others.
Among the venues hooked up this year are Ann Arbor’s Blind Pig, Athens’ 40 Watt Club, Denver’s Bluebird Theatre, Hoboken’s Maxwell’s, Minneapolis’ 7th Street Entry, New York’s Knitting Factory, State College Pennsylvania’s Crowbar, and Washington DC’s 9:30 Club. | Digital Club Festival 2000 | | festival schedule | | RealNetworks | | top of page |
