The Go-Betweens play UK gigs promoting new LP
18 July 2000

The Australian songwriting duo of Robert Forster and Grant McLennan, recently reunited for the first studio album from The Go-Betweens in twelve years, played Monday night at an unannounced gig at the tiny Kashmir Club in London. Their new album titled The Friends Of Rachel Worth includes guest appearances by several American artists (Elliot Smith, Sleater-Kinney, Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus) but is so far set only for UK/European release. It’s due 25 September.
Forster and McLennan have announced a show on 25 October at the Empire in London’s Shepherd’s Bush district—but fans on both side of the Atlantic (not to mentional Australasia) can rightfully hope for a tour in support of the new album. | NME story | | The Go-Betweens | | discography | | sample from Bellavista Terrace (best of) | | top of page |
