image
Nebraska born, Seattle based songsmith Elliott Smith appeared Monday as the musical guest on CBS television’s Late Show with David Letterman. He performs live this Friday (21 July) at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, New York—the show is free. Then on 28 July he plays Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival. He continues with festival appearances through the summer in England and the US.
Smith has tentatively planned a North American tour for this fall. We’ll post details as soon as they’re announced.
Smith released his critically acclaimed fifth album Figure 8 this past April. And he recently guested on the upcoming comeback album from Australian art rockers The Go Betweens along with a slew of other northwest US musicians including Sleater-Kinney and Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus. Titled The Friends Of Rachel Worth, it’s set for an 11 September release in the UK on Circus Records and will be the first studio album from The Go Betweens in 12 years. | Elliott Smith (unofficial) | | tour dates | | bio | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
