Reef, with new album, tour & post Webcast
12 July 2000

West Country (UK) power pop quartet Reef release their fourth album Getaway in the UK next month, and are touring Europe now. Al Clay (The Boo Radleys, Pixies, Stereophonics) produced the new set. Guitarist Kenwyn House said “There is a new feeling in the band. It’s a new producer for a start. I think we have been underestimated for our songwriting sometimes [but Al Clay has] really brought out that side of us, as opposed to going with that corny idea that 'they’re very visceral, they’re not very cerebral'.”
The new LP’s first single, Set The Record Straight, comes out in the UK at the end of July in two versions. CD1 includes Gentle Morning and Haze, while CD2 includes Life Seems So Clean and Nothing Town.
The band played Birmingham, England on 30 June, and that performance will be Webcast over virtuetv.com tomorrow evening (13 July) starting 8 pm BST (3 pm EDT). If you miss the premier, the show will later be available on virtuetv’s archive. | Reef | | Webcast | | bio | | discography | | sample from Glow (1997) | | top of page |
