Limp Bizkit tread lightly starting free US tour
11 July 2000

Florida testosterone tradesmen Limp Bizkit’s free US tour starts today with a two night stand at Detroit’s State Theater. Admission to the 3,000-5,000 seat venues on the 14 city 'Back To Basics' tour will be by wrist bands provided free on a first come basis and distributed several hours before each show. Controversial software maker Napster is co-sponsor.
By using relatively small venues—announced no more than 48 hours before each performance—along with wrist band admission, the band hopes to compensate for the excitement and attraction of the free gigs and avoid the sort of safety problem that left nine young people dead in Denmark last week at the Roskilde charity festival.
Latino rappers Cypress Hill open on all dates. Following a pair of shows in San Francisco 7-8 August, Limp Bizkit head to Europe for festival dates in Germany and England. Here are the cities for the Back To Basics tour
