Belfast, Northern Ireland techno/ambient artist David Holmes released his LP Bow Down To The Exit Sign on 12 June in the UK, his first album in nearly three years. On 7 August Go! Beat releases the LP’s first single, 69 Police, also in the UK. North Americans can get the discs direct from Amazon.co.uk.
Holmes recorded Bow Down mostly in New York city, with help from Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, Tricky singer Martina Toppley Bird, and Jagz Kooner (ex Sabres Of Paradise). His track Gritty Shaker remixed by Death In Vegas’ Richard Fearless appears on The Solution To Benefit Heal The Bay, a double CD album released this May on Uni/MoJo in the US.
Holmes plays on 27 August at the England Creamfields festival and the next day at the London Notting Hill Carnival. | NME story | | David Holmes | | Bow Down... at Amazon.co.uk | | Creamfields | | bio | | discography | | sample from Solution To Benefit Heal The Bay | | top of page |
