Departure Lounge ready US debut
31 January 2000
Over the past few years English singer/songwriter Tim Keegan has rechristened his musical vehicle from Homer to The Homer Lounge to Tim Keegan & The Homer Lounge to Tim Keegan And The Departure Lounge. The latter toured the US in 1999 with Robyn Hitchcock. And as they ready their US debut album, Departure Lounge have dropped their founder’s name entirely.
Out Of There is an expanded version of Departure Lounge’s 1999 UK release Out Of Here, featuring several additional tracks including remixes by French DJ Kid Loco and former Cocteau Twin Simon Raymonde. It’s due 2 May in the US. They’ll also release the new tracks in the form of a UK only EP on 10 April, plus a limited edition 12" vinyl record with Kid Loco remixes of the 1997 Homer Lounge track Disconnected. Meanwhile, Out Of Here sees its first Australia release this summer.
The band have already started recording their next album with Kid Loco producing, with working title Beyond The Beltway. | Departure Lounge | | discography | | sample from Long Distance Information (Homer Lounge) | | top of page |
