Alec Empire plotting collaborations with Reznor, De La Rocha
3 January 2000
Atari Teenage Riot front man Alec Empire, king of political technoise, spoke with allstar News about possible collaborations with Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor and with Rage Against The Machine’s Zack De La Rocha. ATR opened for NIN during their European tour this fall.
Empire on Reznor: “We planned a lot of stuff. He said we should make a record in New Orleans at [his] studio basically after the Australian tour. I think it would be a good idea... When I first met him, he goes, 'OK, Alec. I don’t want to sound like I’m kissing your ass, but I think you’re a genius and I want to get inside your head and understand how you do this stuff.' That was really funny I thought, the way he introduced himself.”
On De La Rocha: “I want to do stuff with Zack. We don’t know exactly when yet but sometime in the first half of the year.” | CDnow allstar story | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
