Denmark’s Roskilde Festival announces early bands
27 January 2000
The Roskilde Festival 2000 takes place 29 June through 2 July in Roskilde, Denmark, with seven stages and 160 bands. As always, all profits from the musical/political event go to humanitarian and cultural charities and projects, with coordination by Foreningen Roskildefonden (The Roskilde Charity Society). Some 15,000 volunteers from the community participate.
With nearly six months to go, this year’s lineup already includes Calexico (US), Chumbawamba (UK), The Cure (UK), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), The Flaming Lips (US), Gomez (UK), Groove Armada (UK), Iron Maiden (UK), Magga Stina (Iceland), Pearl Jam (US), Rico (UK), Silo (Denmark), and Smog (US).
Roskilde 1999 sold out its 70,000 tickets. The festival will enforce the same limit this year. Tickets are on sale now, with info and links available on the festival’s Web site. | Roskilde Festival site | | top of page |
