Patti Smith set to release Gung Ho 27 January 2000 Poet, author, and highly influential singer/songwriter Patti Smith, in her 29th year as a rock artist, has finished work on the album Gung Ho. The set is due 21 March on Arista, with R.E.M. vocalist Michael Stipe helping out on the first single Glitter In Their Eyes. Smiths book Patti Smith Complete: Lyrics, Notes And Reflections, was published in paperback last year. She performs this year at the 8th annual Tibet House benefit concert 5 February 2000 at Carnegie Hall in New York.
