Stereophonics wake up Millennium Eve crowd in Liverpool
2 January 2000
It was a Welsh dominated night New Year’s Eve in the UK, with Manic Street Preachers, Feeder, Shack, and Super Furry Animals performing the world’s largest indoor music event that night in Cardiff and Stereophonics gigging to 30,000 at Liverpool’s Cream 2000 festival.
NME reports “...the Welsh trio ignited a previously passive crowd....” Stereophonics played a tightly paced 12 song/45 minute set which included I Wouldn’t Believe Your Radio, dedicated by vocalist Kelly Jones to ex Beatle George Harrison who is recovering from a stabbing attack. | NME story | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
