Superchunk tour Spain and England, release new EP 17 January 2000 Mellowing North Carolina punks Superchunk start a nine date tour of Spain and England on Wednesday at a festival in Palma. They’re supporting their seventh studio album Come Pick Me Up, released last August in the US. Also released last year were Superchunk’s Hello Hawk EP, which included non-album and acoustic version tracks, and a re-release of their breakthrough 1991 LP No Pocky For Kitty—all on their own Merge Records label. A new EP titled 1,000 lbs is due 5 February in the US and late this month in Europe. It includes the previously unreleased track White Noise and a cover of Scary Monsters (the 1980 David Bowie song).
