Texas festival to honor slain punk Brian Deneke 17 January 2000 The Brian Deneke Memorial Committee will help stage the Unity Through Diversity music and arts festival on 30 July 2000 at the Sam Houston Park in Amarillo, Texas. The festival honors Brian Deneke, killed at age 19 in 1997 by Dustin Camp. Camp, who apparently hated Deneke because of his punk attire and hair, killed him by running him down with a Cadillac. He was sentenced only to probation. He served no time and paid no fines. Surviving family members and friends are preparing to bring a civil lawsuit against Camp. | Deneke Memorial site | | top of page | |
