Overbooking leads to last second Slipknot cancellation, riot 13 January 2000 Slipknot fans rioted on Tuesday, destroying parts of Oklahoma Citys Tower Theater, after the band refused to go on stage. Accounts differ widely, but the nine member Iowa alt metal rockers apparently refused to play after the oversold 1,000 capacity venue asked for volunteers to leave to comply with fire regulations. The club told MTV news that Slipknot will play a larger venue in the city soon, and that attendees of the canceled show will not get refunds. | MTV story | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
