US indie music documentary debuts at Portland festival 13 January 2000 Justin Mitchell’s black and white indie music documentary film Songs For Cassavetes debuts Friday 14 January at the Reel Music film festival in Portland, Oregon. Songs covers the past 20 years of non-mainstream music in the US, featuring The Hi-Fives, The Make Up, Sleater-Kinney, Tullycraft, Unwound, and many others—although no one on camera is identified—and includes footage from the 1997 Yo Yo A Go Go festival in Olympia. | CDnow allstar story | | top of page | |
