Manager Sharon Osbourne smashes Billy Corgan 12 January 2000 In a very personal and public manner, band manager Sharon Osbourne (wife of Black Sabbaths Ozzy) has quit her position with The Smashing Pumpkins just three months into her tenure. A statement issued on Tuesday says It was with great pride and enthusiasm that I took on management of the Pumpkins back in October, but unfortunately I must resign today due to medical reasonsBilly Corgan was making me sick!!! [I am] saddened that [I] will no longer be working with such great and talented people as James Iha, Melissa Auf Der Maur and Jimmy Chamberlain. I wish them much love. The Smashing Pumpkins release their fifth studio album MACHINA/the machines of God on 28 February in the US, and are now on tour in Europe. They had spent more than a year considering managers before picking Osbourne. | Live Daily story | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
