Elliott Smith readies followup to critically acclaimed XO

Nebraska born, Seattle based songsmith Elliott Smith is finishing up his fifth solo album, not yet titled but tentatively set for a mid year release. Promoter Girlie Action has announced the tentative track listing: Son of Sam, Junkbond Trader, Everything Reminds Me of Her, Pretty Mary Kay, Color Bars, Wouldn’t Mama Be Proud, L.A., The Lost and Found, I Better Be Quiet Now, Happiness, and Stupidity Tries.
    Musicians on the set include bassist Sam Coomes of Quasi (and formerly of Smith’s punk quartet Heatmiser), drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.), and drummer Pete Thomas (The Attractions).
