Megadeth guitarist calls it quits mid tour 10 January 2000 Lead guitarist Marty Friedman has quit San Francisco metal band Megadeth in the middle of their current North American tourthe bands first lineup shift since 1990 when Friedman joined the band. He wants to pursue other musical interests, according to Megadeths official statement. Al Pitrelli, a member of Alice Coopers band, will fill in for Friedman on the remainder of the tour and on their upcoming international tour.
