Belle & Sebastian split up rumors prove false 3 February 2000 Scottish retro pop band Belle & Sebastian are alive and well, thank you, a spokeswoman told NME. Internet rumors held that bassist Stuart David had quit, but Theres nothing mysterious going on. Stuart is still very much a part of Belle & Sebastian, and is now with the band busy putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming album. The not yet titled set is due around mid year in the UK. David has been spending time recently on his project band Looper, who release their new album Geometrid through Jeepster in the UK this May. Other members of Belle & Sebastian also appear on the album.
