MDFMK debut is a hit with US college radio 28 February 2000 SonicNet’s Corey Moss speaks with the members of MDFMK, the friendlier and smaller scale reincarnation of Deutsche goth industrialist collective KMFDM. Leader and multi-instrumentalist Sascha Konietzko explained the direction of his new trio as manifest on their self titled debut: “It’s kind of like three records in one. It’s an industrial-rock record, it’s a techno, drum & bass record, and it’s a new age record—just layered one on top of each other.” The new band comprises Konietzko, KMFDM guitarist Tim Skold, and singer/lyricist Lucia Cifarelli (ex Drill).
