Indie now ranks with polka, romance as target market 28 February 2000 US based music recycling house K-Tel Records—known for such kitsch compilations as The Greatest Love Songs, Greatest Sports Rock Jams, and Polka Polka Polka—is now tapping the indie market. The two CD, 30 track Gimme Indie Rock, Volume 1 ranges from Black Flag to Giant Sand to The Melvins to Spacemen 3. K-Tel releases it 21 March.
