Band-approved Sex Pistols documentary to debut 17 February 2000 A new documentary on English proto-punks The Sex Pistols, The Filth And The Fury, debuts in New York city on 29 March. It moves to Los Angeles on 21 April and opens across the US later this spring. Julien Temple, known for his ill-received 1980 Pistols documentary The Great Rock n Roll Swindle, also directed the new film. Temples 1980 film was dismissed at the time as a marketing vehicle for the bands manager. About the new one, singer John Lydonwho participated in the makingwrote last year The film depicts the Sex Pistols as it really was, not how you wanted it to be. The Sex Pistols, originally a manufactured product of impresario Malcom McClaren, loosed themselves on an unsuspecting public and changed the face of popular music during their very brief three year existence. | CDnow allstar story | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
