Oasis confirm for Reading and Leeds 14 February 2000 Putting a cap on many months of speculation about whether they would or wouldn’t, Britpop superstars Oasis have just announced that they will headline this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals in England. Guitarist/ songwriter Noel Gallagher: “As far as I’m concerned, there are two main British music festivals, Glastonbury and Reading. As we’ve already played Glastonbury twice and Reading is nearer to my house, it was an easy choice to make.” Oasis’ new single Go Let It Out debuted on the British charts this week at number one.
