Ladyfest 2000 issues call for artists 14 February 2000 The first annual Ladyfest celebration of womens music, art, and politics takes place 1-6 August in Olympia Washington. With the music lineup taking shape, organizers have now issued a call for performance artists, spoken word artists, and any other acts of personal or collective daring & feat i.e. firebreathing, interactive tension theater, etc. The deadline for submissions is 15 May. Send an outline in any form, supporting documentation of past work, and an artists statement to Bridget at Ladyfest 2000, PO Box 1784, Olympia WA 98507, USA. Passes to Ladyfest 2000 will be US$50 (£31.20) and will provide admission (first come/first serve) to all evening shows at the Capitol Theatre main stage plus all daytime shows, art exhibits, film screenings, performance art and spoken word events, discussions, speeches, and workshops. Some workshops will be ladies only. Tickets to individual events will be $5 and $8. Confirmed artists for the main stage now include Aislers Set, Bangs, Bratmobile, Sarah Dougher, Emilys Sassy Lime, Frenchie And The German Girls, The Gossip, I Mudder Accordian, Lois, The Need, Shotgun Won, Sleater-Kinney, Tennessee Twin, and Allison Williams. | Ladyfest | | top of page | |
