Arthur Baker concocting wide ranging album 10 February 2000 Producer Arthur Baker (Black Uhuru, Al Green, Afrika Bambaata, Joy Division) is working on an unusual new album with the help of Scottish post rockers Mogwai, Primal Scream bassist Mani, New Order bassist Peter Hook, and others. The mysterious project doesnt yet have a public name or a label, but promises to be very interesting. Mogwai drummer Martin Bulloch told NME last week Arthur came up to Glasgow at the end of last year and we did an old Jewish hymn. A couple of days ago he got Peter Hook to play on the tune we did as well. So thats going to be coming out soon I reckon. | NME story | | top of page | |
