NME’s 2000 Premier Awards 1 February 2000 Last night UK music magazine The New Musical Express (NME) held their Premier Music Awards ceremony for 2000 at London’s Mermaid Theatre, hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJs Mary Anne Hobbs and Steve Lamacq. The winners are Readers’ poll Best New Artist: Muse Best Live Act: Super Furry Animals Best Single: Tender by Blur Best Band: Blur Best Dance Act: The Chemical Brothers Best TV Show: The Royle Family Best Radio Show: Radio 1 Evening Session Best Musical Event: Glastonbury Festival Best DJ: Fatboy Slim Best Band Ever: The Beatles Best Video: No Distance Left to Run by Blur NME writers’ poll Brightest Hope: Terris Single Of The Year: Windowlicker by Aphex Twin Dance Act Of The Year: Death In Vegas Radio 1 Evening Session’s Session Of The Year: Supergrass Artist Of The Year: Travis Godlike Genius Award For Services To Music: Shaun Ryder | BBC story | | top of page | |
