Townshend Lifehouse concert rehearsals on Web
1 February 2000
Starting Saturday 8 February, Pete Townshend will post daily video from his rehearsals for a 25 February concert based on his play Lifehouse. The show, at London’s Sadler Wells theatre, “...is going be about the music... I am not trying to create a dramatic context for the show, nor tell the story in any way.” according to Townshend.
The Lifehouse concert will be broadcast live on English radio, and filmed for later Webcast. Some tickets are still available from TicketWeb.
Meanwhile, starting Wednesday 2 February, Townshend’s ecommerce site eelpie.com has available 2,000 compies of the 4 CD box set Avatar which includes three rare 1970s albums by Townshend along with a CD-ROM with video (PC and Mac). The site also offers the 6 CD box set The Lifehouse Chronicles, which includes the complete radio play as broadcast on the BBC last year, as well as music originally written for the play. The discs will not be available elsewhere, according to the site. | Townshend site | | discography | | sample from Psychoderelict | | top of page |
