Spiritualized release DVD single; new details on album
7 December 2000

English guitarist/vocalist Jason Pierce, who formed Spiritualized ten years ago following the breakup of his band Spacemen 3, has been working with a wide spectrum of artists, as well as an orchestra and choir, on the fourth album under the Spiritualized moniker. Still not titled and without a firm release date, best guesses say it will arrive early in the new year.
Pierce sacked the other members of Spiritualized back in June 1999 shortly after securing their signatures on a new contract. He’s been recording and mixing at Air and Abbey Road studios with keyboards/synths player ThighPaulSandra (aka Tim Lewis) and guitarist Dogan from Julian Cope’s band, drummer Kev Bales from Echoboy, saxophone player Ray Dickey, percussionist Tom Edwards from the Royal Academy of Music, and vocalist Mimi Parker from Duluth, Minnesota trio Low. Parker has contributed vocals to three tracks according to online message boards.
The new Spiritualized DVD single, released this week, contains two 1997 tracks (featuring the old band): Electricity and Come Together. | Spiritualized | | DVD: Electricity/Come Together | | discography | | top of page |
