Orbital to play London New Year’s Eve gig

English electronica duo Orbital (the brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll) play a rare home country gig this New Year’s Eve at the London Arena along with Leftfield featuring Afrika Bambaataa, X-Press 2, and DJ sets by Carl Craig and Andrew Weatherall. The show begins 8 pm New Year’s Eve and runs until 8 am on New Year’s Day 2001. Orbital have been touring South Africa, Greece, and Japan this year. They’ve played just one other show in England in 2000: the 26 October Q Awards Showcase at London’s Hammersmith Palais. This summer they worked with legendary German electronica band Kraftwerk on a remix of the track Expo, released for Europe on 13 November.
