Gainesville, Florida indie label Fueled By Ramen records this week re-launched their Web site with an entirely new design, an online store, full-length MP3 files from all their artists, and a Web radio station. The MP3 files are all available on their front page—click the song titles under New Releases and Coming Soon. To listen to the radio station you need Internet Explorer 5 along with Windows Media Player 6 and Flash 4.
Fueled By Ramen is home to an eclectic mix of acts from the US and Australia including Animal Chin, Ann Beretta, Blueline Medic, The Causey Way, Frodus, Home Grown, The Impossibles, Jersey, Jimmy Eat World, Limp, Pollen, The Stereo, and Swank. This past June they released a 17 track sampler for US$4 ($2.99 at the moment from CDnow) featuring all these bands along with Alkaline Trio, Discount, Ensign, Slow Reader, Spitfire, Strike Anywhere, and Toe To Toe.
FBR’s other recent release is the July EP New Tokyo Is Calling by Minneapolis trio The Stereo, with tracks 4 am, You Were The One, and Turn The Amp On in addition to the title. The Stereo have finished recording their second album, No Traffic, and plan to release it 6 March 2001 in North America. | Fueled By Ramen | | FBR Sampler on CDnow | | New Tokyo Is Calling (MP3) | | top of page |
