Riffage.com closes its Web doors
11 December 2000

Joining the growing wave of Dot Com closures, which is very likely to get much worse before it gets better, Palo Alto, California based music/entertainment site Riffage.com has shut down. In its brief ascendancy beginning last year, Riffage had acquired indie label 1500 Records and the Great American Music Hall venue (from which it provided regular live Webcasts), both of which they will now sell. Riffage claimed one million members.
Bands who sold merchandise through Riffage will get back any remaining inventory within about eight weeks, shipped at Riffage’s expense. Riffage is still working out arrangements to pay artists for merchandise sold this quarter. Web site visitors who recently purchased through Riffage will get their orders within 10 days according to the Web site. | Riffage (RIP) | | top of page |
