Frank Black announces new LP, stages US + UK tour 1 December 2000 Black wrote in September that his band had completed the third Frank Black And The Catholics album, working with drummer/ producer Nick Vincent (Sparklehorse, Phil Collins, The Donny & Marie Osmond Show). Titled Dog In The Sand, WAR? plans to release the new LP early next year. Like the first two Catholics albums, Black recorded Dog direct to two track, completely bypassing the normal mixing process. But unlike them, the new LP contains not even a single razor blade edit. Black said I foresee a time when we will record to wax cylinder, or perhaps a release only on sheet music. Further and further back in time. The first single will be Robert Onion. Last night Black began a 17 date east coast/ west coast North American tour, playing the first of three nights at the Los Angeles Knitting Factory. Just added are several east coast dates including one in Montréal. The tour continues in February with shows in Scotland and England.
