Berkeley, California power punk quintet Samiam release Astray today on Hopeless Records in the US. A bit of a comeback album, it’s their first full length in over two years. You can pick it up on either CD or vinyl.
Tim O’Hier (Sebadoh, J. Mascis, Throwing Muses) recorded the set with the band near San Francisco, then mixed it in New York.
Samiam kick off the first leg of an expected world tour today and tomorrow with a pair of shows at Brownie’s in New York city. They’ve confirmed a month of dates around the US, closing on 1 October at San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill.
The band recently posted MP3 (MPEG I layer 3) versions of four demo tracks recorded in the spring of 1999 in Billie Joe’s basement (he of Green Day), available on their site’s Audio page. | Samiam | | tour dates | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
