Pulp return with secret gig; live Webcasts this weekend
25 August 2000

Sheffield, England Britpop icons Pulp played an unannounced show at north London’s The Garage club this week, their first public performance in more than a year. (Vocalist/song writer Jarvis Cocker played this summer’s Meltdown Festival, but not with Pulp.) They played five new songs and generally sounded more upbeat than on 1998’s This Is Hardcore LP according to the BBC online. A band spokesperson described the new direction as aiming at splitting the difference between Hardcore and the more pop oriented Different Class from 1995.
Pulp headline the Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend, playing Reading on Saturday at 10:15 pm and Leeds on Sunday at 9:45 pm. You can watch the shows on a live Webcast presented by promoter Mean Fiddler. | BBC story | | Pulp | | Webcast | | discography | | sample from This Is Hardcore | | top of page |
