Ween video directed by Parker & Stone

New Jersey pop anomalies Ween (the duo of Dean and Gene Ween, aka Mickey Melchiondo and Aaron Freeman) contributed the track The Rainbow to 1998’s Chef Aid episode of the animated TV series South Park. The track also appears on the Chef Aid album. Last week Elektra revealed that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have returned the favor by producing the latest video for Ween’s White Pepper LP (released this past May).
Matt Stone described the plot for Even If You Don’t, which features a donkey: “The chorus is 'I love you even if you don’t,' so the concept is that they hold a special concert for their wives, and Ween is just smiley and happy onstage while their wives are smoking crack and getting down with all the guys in the bar. We wanted one of the wives to see the donkey’s dick and get all over it.”
But, explained Gene Ween, “The donkey was a female, which they weren’t expecting. Matt and Trey were a little bummed out.” | Ween | | Ween on Elektra | | Beef Cake: South Park resources | | bio | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
