Depeche Mode return with new studio album this year 28 April 2000 UK synth pop band Depeche Mode, who never really went away, announced last week on their Web site that they’ll start recording a new studio album in June and will likely tour next year.     Last October the band released their video collection Depeche Mode—The Videos 86-98 on DVD (previously available on VHS tape), and in March they released The Singles 86-98 on DVD in PAL format only—generally playable in Europe but not the US.     The new, not yet titled studio album will be their first since 1997’s Ultra. | NME story | | Depeche Mode | | discography | | sample from Ultra | | top of page |
