Former Helium front woman and The Spells member (with Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein) Mary Timony stages a brief US tour starting 4 May at Cleveland’s Grog Shop, supporting her dreamy March 2000 solo debut LP Mountains. In her liner notes Timony writes “For those of you who have come across the underground river of despair in your travels, do not stand and gawk, but turn away, lest your eyes be burnt out; for those of you who have lived near its banks, know that there are other pilgrims whose ships have sailed in its darkness... Welcome to this record.”
Timony recently signed on to play the first annual Ladyfest celebration of women’s music, art, and politics which takes place 1-6 August in Olympia Washington
