Roskilde 2000 to feature expanded technology area 13 April 2000 The Roskilde Festival 2000 takes place 29 June through 2 July in Roskilde, Denmark, with seven stages and 160 bands including The Cure, The Flaming Lips, Gomez, and Oasis. This year’s festival also features a greatly expanded Technology Area with two stages of its own plus numerous interactive exhibits. For example • Swedish artist Åsa Frankenberg will show a light installation in which the creation of shadows is slowed down • The Technical University of Denmark will coach a team of football (soccer) playing robots against festival participants • Hælbeck Teaching College and the Copenhagen Experimentarium will demonstrate body scanners, fractal art, and mind search technology. Artists performing in the Roskilde Technology Area include Roni Size & Reprazent, Everything But The Girl, Saint Etienne, Romanthony, and about 45 others. | Roskilde Festival | | top of page | |
