The Magnetic Fields set US tour dates, London show
12 April 2000

US synth/minimalist pop band The Magnetic Fields, whose triple-disc LP 69 Love Songs rose to the upper reaches of several best-of lists for 1999, tour the US this spring and summer. A handful of shows are set for this month, with the tour picking up again in late May.
The Magnetic Fields then play a one-off at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on 25 July, and a show at The Fort at Castle Clinton in New York’s Battery Park on 3 August.
While The Magnetic Field’s studio work is typically Stephin Merritt playing all instruments, live shows include Claudia Gonson on drums & keyboards, Sam Davol on Cello, and John Woo on guitar.
Meanwhile, Merritt ’s songs have found their way onto the Nickelodeon TV series The Adventures Of Pete And Pete (guest starring Iggy Pop), and onto the film soundtracks for Welcome To The Dollhouse and Nowhere. | tour dates | | The Magnetic Fields | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
